More Library Paintings Sold During Auctions

More James Prendergast Library art has been sold during two auctions held by Stair Galleries.

According to stairgalleries.com, seven library paintings sold during an auction held March 2. The paintings included in this auction included William Trost Richards’ “The Evening Star,” which was estimated to sale for $800-$1,200 and sold for $11,000; Alfred Bryan Wall’s “Clay Head Road,” which was estimated to sale for $400-$600 and sold for $6,500; Marie Dieterle’s “Cattle In Normandy,” which was estimated to sale for $800-$1,200 and sold for $4,250; Frederick Ballard Williams’ “Fete Champetre,” which was estimated to sale for $400-$800 and sold for $900; Georg Oeder’s “Woodcutter In A Forest,” which was estimated to sale for $700-$900 and sold for $800; Ambrose MacNeil’s “Sunrise On The Isle Of Mull,” which was estimated to sale for $600-$900 and sold for $600; and Adolf Humborg’s “Amusing News,” which was estimated to sell for $600-$800 and sold for $300.
